Origins of the Ottawa British Car Day

In the late summer of 2004, representatives from several of the Ottawa based British Car Clubs got together and started discussing the concept of holding an all-British car show in Ottawa. We realized there were already several car shows in Ottawa each year, but none which showcased only British cars. And so the All British Car Day concept was born.

Throughout the winter of 2004-05, representatives from all of the British car clubs in the Ottawa area begain working together to plan the show. The first Ottawa All British Car Day was held in July of 2005, and it has been held every year since then in mid-July. Always held at the Britannia Beach Park on the shore of the Ottawa River, this has become a popular event in the Ottawa British car community. We have had more sunny days than rainy days, but there were a few years where we had at least some rain on the show day. While not ideal for a car show, it has not dampened our enthusiasm for putting on this event every summer. The spirit of interclub cooperation that has grown over the years by working together to put on the show has carried over into many other areas, and today the clubs frequently organize multi-club driving and social events throughout the season.

Lunch for the participants at the show will be cooked on the Ottawa Land-Rover Club's extraordinary mobile kitchen.
